A Bromley mother
is to conquer her fear of heights by bungee jumping off

Karen Williamson, 44, is to hurl herself off the 160ft-high building on May 15.
She will be
watched by family and friends including mother Shirley Williamson and son
Nathan Corroll.
It will be a
giant leap for Karen who was so scared of heights she was in tears on the
100ft-high ferris wheel at Blackpool Pier.
She said: “I’ll
be crying on the day because I’m absolutely petrified of heights in a big way.
“I was going to
do it last year but didn’t go through with it. It’s something I’ve been
obsessing about every since.
“I just said to
myself that I was going to do it because in a couple of years I will look back
and say, ‘Why didn’t I do that’.
“I want to
confront my fears and people I have spoken to who have done it have said how
good you feel about yourself afterwards.”

She said: “The
air ambulance is absolutely brilliant and I fully support the tremendous job
they do.”
The former
She added: “I’m
just trying to focus my energy because I want to stay in control of my body on
the day.
“When I think
about it I get anxious and I get flutters in my stomach but I’ve got to do it
because I’ve backed myself into a corner.”
